In the Heart of the Mountains

The county seat of Yancey County, Burnsville, bustles with unique galleries, antique shops, restaurants and specialty stores. This charming mountain town and other villages in the Black Mountains are home to more crafters and artisans per capita than anywhere else in the United States.

A new four-lane improvement is being completed on Highway 19 which intersects Interstate 26, making Mountain Heritage Estates the ideal location for those wishing to work in Asheville but preferring to live and raise their families in the excellent schools of Yancey County and in a small-town environment.

Beautiful Mountain Heritage High School is only a few minutes from Mountain Heritage Estates where students are working alongside community volunteers to build the next Habitat for Humanity house as part of their classwork assignments. They are also painting and installing blocks for the historical Quilt Trail project and crafting pottery for Empty Bowl benefits to raise funds to fight hunger locally, nationally, and internationally.
