The Developer

Our roots... they are what make us thrive.

The youngest of 9 children, Bill Ennen moved to Florida from Minnesota with a half-empty U-Haul truck in the early 1980s and started working as a laborer. He quickly rose through the ranks of various homebuilding companies, learning every aspect of quality home construction. In 1993, Bill started Florida Lifestyle Homes of Fort Myers, an award-winning firm that specializes in building luxury custom homes.

Bill came to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina with the intention of buying a lot and building a place where his family could be close to the land and experience life in small-town America. The first special property he found was Mountain Heritage Estates. What began as a desire for a secluded two-acre home site became an opportunity for others to share in a new community. Bill purchased this sublime mountain property to enjoy and steward with family and friends and share with others. Diane, Bill's sister, saw the property and soon partnered with him to make it the special place it is today.

Bill and Diane have now expanded their Yancey County holdings to include the exclusive, premier development, The Cove at Celo Mountain, located about 15 minutes from Mountain Heritage Estates. Over time, Bill and Diane have put together an additional 450 acres for the future development of an enclave of select communities which will adjoin Mountain Heritage Estates to the east. Mountain Air Country Club anchors the western boundary of Mountain Heritage Estates.

The real estate mantra that only three things matter in purchasing a home or property - location, location, location - makes Mountain Heritage Estates one of the best entrance-level developments to be found in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
